Our Community

Together, credit union members and staff impact the communities we serve.

Your experience with Scott Credit Union is about more than money; it’s about getting the most value for your money and building better financial futures.

Our Board of Directors consists of members who are volunteers. They provide strategic direction, driven by our members’ needs. Credit unions typically pay more interest on savings, charge lower rates on loans, and help members avoid many of the fees that banks charge their customers. In addition, SCU is committed to serving the communities where we live and work.

Community Impact

Scott Credit Union has a long tradition of supporting the communities we serve. The Scott Credit Union Community Foundation was established in 2018 to expand our reach and amplify community support.

With You Program
A primary focus of the SCU Community Foundation is supporting our local schools. In 2022, the Scott Credit Union Community Foundation allocated $50,000 to be awarded to a variety of school projects and has donated more than $105,000 to local schools since the program’s inception in 2020. Applications are usually released in October of each year and winners are announced in late November.

Our Team
Volunteer Incentive Program

Our employees are really VIPs!

Scott Credit Union’s Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) is a unique program that rewards staff members for their volunteer hours in the community. Since the program launched in 2008, Scott Credit Union employees have generously worked almost 24,000 hours for various community and philanthropic events.

At SCU, community service brings us together. Credit union employees have a heart for serving our neighbors and members.

“Through VIP, [SCU employees] can help to create opportunities and [build] an equitable community. It excites me to know our organization directly aligns with its values and that together we can make a lasting difference in our local communities whether that’s in financial education, cyber security, or anything else that is important to us.”

– Mark Torres

Acommunity - SCU Community Involvement

Requesting Support from SCU

SCU has contributed almost $3.7 million and encouraged employee volunteerism for a variety of local civic efforts and financial education. We have increased our community involvement and focus on education to improve financial literacy and equitable opportunity throughout the region we serve.

If your group, organization, or event needs support, please contact the Scott Credit Union Community Relations team to submit a request at least four weeks prior to your event. We look forward to supporting the causes you value, building up our community together. Credit union membership is truly more than financial services at SCU.
