80 Acts to Celebrate 80 Years
Scott Credit Union is celebrating 80 years of service this year, and we’re on a mission to prove that our staff and members make up the best credit union around.

We’ve dedicated 80 years of serving our members, 80 years of delivering value, and 80 years of serving our communities. During this time of celebration, we want to show our appreciation to those that have kept us going for the past eight decades.
SCU has committed to performing 80 Acts of Kindness in 2023 as another testament to our mission – Members. Value. Community. Be on the lookout for SCU employees planting trees and cleaning up local parks, donating supplies to a diaper bank, paying off school lunch debt, and more. 80 Acts of Kindness
#1 Donated to Ronald McDonald House 3450 Park Ave Location.
#2 Assembled and delivered goodie bags to employees of Community Link, which provides a variety of services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
#3 Served ice cream sundaes to the residents of the local Trenton assisted living facility.
#4 Donated diapers to Metro East Diaper Bank.
#5 Volunteered at ReFresh St. Louis, benefiting the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition.
#6 Operation Food Search: Feed My Starving Children is dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children worldwide.
#7 Partnered with HeartLand Conservancy to plant trees in Wood River.
#8 Partnered with HeartLand Conservancy to plant trees in O’Fallon.
#9 Partnered with HeartLand Conservancy to plant trees in Edwardsville.
#10 Partnered with HeartLand Conservancy to plant trees in Collinsville.
#11 Joined Partners for Pets for a day volunteering by cleaning cages, and bathing resident pets who are looking for their forever home. Pet Smart gift cards, cat litter, leashes and collars were also donated.
#12 Prepared and delivered 50 celebration and “out of school” bags for local food pantries in Lebanon, Edwardsville, and Collinsville to help children in need during the summer
#13 Cleaned the outdoor property of Eden’s Glory, a non profit home for victims of trafficking. Also, trimmed grass, planted flowers and vegetables.
#14 Supported the Oasis Women’s Center, a domestic violence shelter and service provider in Alton.
#15 Donated to Mascoutah Weekend Meals, which aims to provide nutritious meals to students in Mascoutah, over the weekends when they are not in school.
#16 Collected and donated pet supplies to the Metro East Humane Society.
#17 Delivered toiletry and personal items for students in the College Bound St. Louis program.
#18 Collected and donated 200 Ibs. of food to the Collinsville Food Pantry .
#19 Volunteered and donated to Randy’s Rescue Ranch.
#20 Served lunch to the staff at Gordon Bush Alternative Center in East St. Louis.
#21 Donated All-Star Baseball themed baskets to the Community Link CILA employees and residents in Breese, IL
#22 Scott Credit Union partnered with the St. Louis Cardinals for the first pitch of the game by Jacob Cullum. Jacob is a life long Cardinals fan and member of the Challenger baseball team. Challenger baseball is a league for people with disabilities and their main goal is to have fun and make friends with their volunteer buddies.
#23 Provided lunch to local Crestwood Firefighters.
#24 Delivered items to the Collinsville food pantry and donated a check from additional donations received.
#25 Donated essentials, healthcare items, snacks, and water to the Violence Prevention Center of Southwest Illinois.
#26 Visited the Metro East Humane Society to take all of the dogs on their morning walk.
#27 Supported Making a Difference in Collinsville by collecting and donating 374 Ibs of food.
#28 Made Spoonful of Comfort meal kits for families with a loved one battling with cancer.
#29 Purchased classroom supplies for over 30 local teacher’s wish lists in the St. Louis Metro area and Chicago.
#30 Painted bleachers, dugouts, concession stand, and equipment shed at the New Athens softball and baseball diamond.
#31 Volunteered to clean, sand, and paint furniture at Restore Décor in Collinsville. Restore Décor restores and sells donated furniture and gives the proceeds made to charity.
#32 Supplied 1 year worth of academic materials to 5 students at Hinchcliffe Elementary in O’Fallon.
#33 Stocked the snack panty for doctors, nurses, administrators at Shriners Children’s Hospital of St. Louis.
#34 Donated school supplies to local teacher with over 19 years experience at Lewis and Clark Junior High School.
#35 Presented Anew Domestic Abuse Treatment Center in the Chicago area, with a check to assist with shelter needs and victim assistance.
#36 Donated to the Jessie Brown VA hospital for Veterans.
#37 Supplied Project Compassion with items to assist mothers in need.
#38 Donated school supplies to teachers and students in the Lebanon School District.
#39 Distributed markers to almost 4,000 underserved youth at the Urban Expo Back to School & Community Empowerment Festival. We also offer a photo booth and fun interactions with the SCU mascot, Scotty.
#40 Promoted financial wellness to hundreds of kids and their families at the RedBird Rookies annual health fair. We also passed out school supplies and other fun items.
#41 SCU hosted a group of teachers and their families from the Miriam School to an all-inclusive suite at a St. Louis Cardinals game. Miriam supports students with challenges such as learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, anxiety, and sensory processing differences and provides individualized curriculum, small class sizes, and integrated speech and occupational therapy
#42 Donated to the newly formed East Alton PTA.
#43 Purchased school and personal supplies for the Care Closet at Mascoutah Middle School. The Care Closet allows students in need access to necessary items throughout the year.
#44 Donated school supplies and funds to the Affton School District for families in need.
#45 Provided pizza to the Bayless Music Boosters Band in Affton.
#46 Collected items for Gateway Pet Guardians and made a donation.
#47 Donated and volunteered at Life Source Consultants a domestic & sexual violence crisis center.
#48 Partnered with Highland Area Christian Services Ministry, a local food pantry to collect school supplies for students in need in the Highland, St. Jacob, and Marine schools.
#49 Paid off school lunch debt for students in the Lebanon School District.
#50 Donated a check to Western Clinton County Senior Services. This non profit seeks to provide programs to educate and assist senior citizens and provide daily meals.
#51 Paid off school lunch debt for students at Harmony EMG Ellis Junior High School.
#52 Purchased rechargeable music stand lights for the Joseph Arthur Middle School band.
#53 Provided Cheeseburger Day at Hope Animal Rescue.
#54 Donated funds to the City of Wood River Parks and Recreations gymnastics program.
#55 Purchased 60 box dinners to the East Alton – Wood River Oilers Football team for an away game.
#56 Supported the Life Skills Department with Collinsville Unit 10 by donating items to help with different skills such as independency, life skills, manipulative and creative skills.
#57 Donated funds to pay off school lunch debt at Lebanon elementary school.
#58 Provided markers to the Edwardsville YMCA Allison Cassens Early Childhood Development Center.
#59 Provided contributions to the food pantry program at Meramec Elementary School.
#60 Donated funds to Advocate Children’s Hospital.
#61 Purchased all supplies for One House at the Veterans Community Project.
#62 Donated and volunteered at Granite City Association Protection of Animals.
#63 Volunteered at the Granite City Association Protection of Animals and donated funds.
#64 Hosted a drive for gently used items and volunteered by cleaning and resetting the Shelter Shop.
#65 Bought lunch for the teachers at North Kirkwood Middle School.
#66 Hosted a Women’s Program in St. Louis at the Cardinals game.
#67 Delivered lunch to Louis and Clark Elementary School.
#68 Purchased and delivered playground supplies to Kreitner Elementary School in Collinsville.
#69 Donated funds to Got Your Six Support Dogs, for the adoption of dogs for veterans and first responders who have risked their lives to serve our country.
#70 Contributed funds to help with Amelia Carriel Jr. High School’s Lunch Debt.
#71 Made a contribution of new clothing to the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition. The Coalition is a child welfare nonprofit that has been serving youth and families in the St. Louis region for 35 years.
#72 Volunteered with the Metro East Humane Society.
#73 Donated to the Scott Airforce Base Fire Department for Fire Prevention Week.
#74 Visited the Christian Activity Center to drop off lunch for teachers and staff.
#75 Gave a contribution of funds and snacks to the Christian Activity Center.
#76 Presented tote bags and funds to local Boy Scout to present to the Veterans of St. Joseph Center.
#77 Provided lunch for the Highland Fire Department.
#78 Volunteered at Veterans Community Project through projects like grounds cleanup, drywall installation, painting, and more.
#79 Donated tools to Heartland Conservancy to assist with their mission of act, advocate, and collaborate for the protection of important places and for community growth strategies that balance a healthy ecosystem and cultural heritage with economic vitality and human well-being.
#80 Gifted funds to the Troy Police Department for the Comfort Dogs Program.
#81 Donated books to the Lewis & Clark Elementary School Library in Wood River.
#82 Purchased items for the Metro-East Human Society from their Amazon Wishlist. This no-kill shelter provides humane medical treatment, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services and more for animals in need.
#83 Donated to the Leu Civic Center in Mascoutah and volunteered in their Halloween Event. The Leu Civic Center offers a wide variety of day and evening programs to enrich the community and build connections!
#84 Delivered and served lunch to the Midlothian Police Department.
#85 Donated diapers, wipes, humidifiers, and other essential items to young mothers at Almost Home.
#86 Delivered and donated wipes to Brightpoint in Granite City, IL.
#87 Collected and delivered groceries to the Glen Ed Food Pantry.
#88 Stocked the pantry at Veterans Community Project with canned goods, snacks and goodies to celebrate Giving Tuesday.
#89 Made and donated blankets to the Cambridge House of Maryville. The Cambridge House is committed to Touching Lives by providing Dignified Lifestyles that are enhanced by the values of Love, Compassion and Dignity with a diversity statement of intentionally co-creating a culture of belonging and equity.
#90 Presented a check to the IL Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 226 for the Cops for Kids campaign. This campaign allows officers to partner with students to purchase items for the holidays.
#91 Donated to help a local Ferguson family in need.
#92 Provided Stray Rescue of St. Louis Medical Fund with a donation to help stray animals in need of medical care.
#93 Donated to Almost Home, they empower young moms to become self-sufficient and create a better future for themselves and their children.
#94 Participated in the Adopt-A-Family collection for the holiday through Highland Area Community Foundation. HACSM is a local food pantry in Highland.
#95 Kicked off a food drive to be to the Green Bean Food Pantry in Trenton at the end of December.
#96 Collaborating with the Salvation Army Angel Tree mission to give to children in need during the holidays.
